any ideas on improving the scene? the backgroud and foreground seems fine but I don't know how to make the object more realistic. seems a little "out" of the scene.

The building and its matrials are to clean and bright. The wintermood does not fit to the woodtexture and the concrete. The wood should be wet and same with the concrete. The wooden floor in front of the house should be covered with snow and same with the stairs and the roof. Even if the scene is in winter the building itself looks like on a dry day in autumn.
Furthermore I would change the fence. The building looks modern and the fence does not fit to the building.

Thanks for the tip Bernhard. A lot of Photoshop post process though but I'll render the scene again with some other textures anyway. Think the fresnel transition is set too low in window glazing. Becouse of the indirect light it looks unnatural. I chose the fence on purpose to get this play of light (shown on pic) on side of the building but agree it'd be more modern.
