Hi Dv

Im hoping someone will make a car object with rotating wheels, I'm sure it's possible, in the meantime....

Here is a brief idea of how it's done.

1. Find a car object and remove the wheels using the object selection tools

2. Keep one of the wheels

3. Move the origin point of the wheel object to the centre

4. Place the car object and wheel in your scene

5. Duplicate the wheel and position on the car

6. Group the wheels with the car

7. Move the car in the animation

8. Experiment with rotation of the wheels till it looks good

Good Luck
Mike

Nice work with the textures... after your video and some hours spend in front of my laptop I animated a drifting car.. its just a beta version because i was interested about the car moment not the textures and other editing stuff. With some nice environment and nice render quality would take me 3 days.. just to render :P

You can do it in version 2 as well, there are no differences between the versions in this regard.

Hi Helen
Open wheel object, move the target point of your camera to the centre of the wheel and go to translate origin (Scene Information ) then select 'camera target' then save. (see picture)

Good luck

Hi Helen
You're nearly there, go to object tool then select a wheel, forward to the end of the movie, press the record button on the sequence timeline, rotate it round maybe 800º then press record button again to stop. You now have 2 markers on the timeline one is the start of rotation one is the finish. You will have to play with this to get it right, just delete the markers and start again.

Good Luck
Mike

I want to realize a question

Is it possible to group the wheels to the chassis of the car?

I have managed to encourage every wheel of independent form but now it wanted that all the objects move grouped and I do not obtain it :(

You can group only objects in Artlantis, in your case the two wheels. To do it, go into the drawer of the object inspector ans simply drag the name of one object into the name of the other object (the same as you would organize the hierarchy of folders on your hard drive).
