Hey guys im new here and just starting out with Artlantis 3.0 since I want to improve the look of plain VW Renders.
Problem is renders in Artlantis are actually looking worse, I know im new and learning and that's why im asking why.
First of all are there any guides besides the ones on this site with more detailed info?
And most important now is that when I export to Art 3 or 2 I always loose my textures specially on substracted surfaces and symbols on walls and it's a pain texturing all that back haven't gotten it to be as nice as VW Final Renderworks yet.
Any ideas why this happens? What can I tweak on the export setting on VW? Or what should I incorporate to the model.

I'm gonna suggest you to read some tutorials and watch them online. Definitely sign up for a free account on www.ArtlantisObjects.com and watch all their free tutorials. This will help a lot!
As far as texturing, I'm not familiar with VW but I might suggest you use simple colors with unique names for all the different material types you're gonna have in the scene. There is not a doubt in my mind that Artlantis will produce a MUCH better rendering than VW will make. Just learn the software a bit more and you'll start making some nice renders I am sure...
Thanks a lot for the info will keep you posted on how I do with Artlantis I'm sure the final result will be much better if I can manage the software well! Im gonna read the tutorials you suggested and give it a go again!

Hi Peters, I am using VW 2009 and Artlantis is the best thing to happen to Vectorworks. The attached picture is modelled in VW and rendered in Artlantis. The method I use to export to Artlantis is to apply VW textures to the surfaces, objects etc in the VW model. I find it easier than colours as you can apply different textures to the wall sides, left, right etc surfaces. Once it is exported into Artlantis the VectorWorks textures are replaced with colours when opened in Artlantis and then I used the Artlantis shaders and textures on the model. It really is a case of learning from your mistakes. Feel free to email me to discuss further.
Artlantis is really fast and simple to use and makes renderworks look bad.
