Why is it that in, Vista 64bit, Quicktime cannot show ArtLantis Panoramas and VRObjects, but a player like DevalVR can (at least the JPEG-rendered versions)?
In my search to find ways to show Artlantis(Quicktime32bit-engine?)rendered VR-objects and HR-panoramas a lot of people are talking about quarrels and sabotage.
A freeware viewer (DevalR) was able to do the job. Although you have to choose the "right" render option in Atl.. Both JPEG types.
Almost all 32-programs run on Vista 64-bit. When I view the property panel of Quicktime.exe it lacks the compatibility tab. But Quicktime does play artlantis animations on this system.
Analogical to the described above there are Vista 64-bit thumbnail issues. I saw some nice discussion on the Adobe forum about this issue between Microsoft and Adobe developpers. Both parties agreed on the other one having to do some extra development.
Will CoreI7 (Iphone, Ibook, I7?) or Windows 7 bring us change?
I can imagine you would like to see some extra effort of the Quickmen.
Thank you for your concern. Probably you would like to see a Quicktime(32 or 64)-version work with all it's features on a 64-bit (Vista or Windows7) system, maybe even more than the developpers of Quicktime do. I thought that maybe your development team ,of a 32-program which runs on 64-bit Vista and which makes use of Quicktime, would know more about the reason WHY there isn't such a version yet. In most forumS I only read things about Quicktime wouldn't be interested, because of the number of users of 64-bit Vista. But maybe there is another reason. I also read that the Vista64 OS has gotten a bit complicated or messy to write software for.
Now and then I will check for other freeware programs. Other users will probably do the same thing. Hopefully this post will be outdated quickly.
