Is there anyone out there who can help me finding a seamless slate texture like the one I have attached. It would be nice if it where a little bit more black than this one.
It is a texture I need for my facade.
I have desperately searched the web for a nice seamless one, but without any luck :-(

Here is a quick shader just using the image you provided. There is still a bit of repetition apparent due to the small sample size used but this may work for you depending your particular render.
If you have Photoshop or another good image editor, there are lots of tutorials out there on how to make your own seamless textures (in Photoshop, clone stamp and offset filter are the two most important tools).

Glad to be of help. Your render looks great and I'm happy to see that the repetition in the shader is not so evident. Irregular textures are difficult because they tend to highlight the tiling no matter what (mostly due to light and dark areas, not the texture itself). Roof shingles/tiles present the added difficulty of getting the overlap to look correct. I only spent about 30 minutes on that one; it really needs several hours of work, regardless of the source texture, to get it up to standard.

This is a very difficult texture to start out with, mostly because of the lighting. You will need to do some prep on the source image itself prior to getting into the seamless work. I have attached a psd to demonstrate some of the prep I am referring to.
Here are the basic steps:
Get your source image prepared by duplicating, cloning, blending, etc. until you have a large enough sample with relatively even color and shadow distribution. Crop to a location that will provide regular tiling. Square aspect makes a number of things easier but is not required.
Offset the image and blend the seams in the same fashion.
Make a new layer and mark the center and corners for easy identification later.
Test in Artlantis, identify problem areas (located with the help of your markers) and go back to Photoshop to adjust.
There is no "Magic Bullet" for high quality shader creation. I have a lot of Photoshop actions and scripts that help, but all my shaders still start with a raw image and several hours of prep work. I finish almost all my shaders as 1024x1024 maps, but they often start much larger and I usually finish working with 1 - 5 pixel brushes to get the quality I demand.

Here is the shader. I hope this helps you. It might need some more work though. Since this material is hardly used in my country I don't know if I set the scaling of the material correct.

#Matt. Thank you for your advice. I know it was very difficult texture to start out with, that is maybe why I didn't succeed very successful.
But I will follow your advice in the future. So thanks a lot
#Sjaak. Thanks for taking the time. I think it looks great. I have attached a photo of a roof with zinc which is often seen in Denmark.
I will make a test photo with your texture very soon.
Thanks again.

I have attached a render with the new texture, I think it looks quite ok. '
Hi
I have just started using Artlantis and I need some help if it is possible. I need to use my own bricks for the facade and how to import them in Artlantis.
