Artlantis studio will not open files created in sketchup 8. Is anyone else having this problem ? I cannot open this file with sketchup 7 as it was created in 8 hmmm. Are abvent aware of this ?
I haven't actually used Sketchup 8 as yet but if you still have SketchUP 7 or lower on your PC/MAC you could just back save the version from SK8 to a lower version then export the Artlantis file from SketchUP 7 or similar? Maybe? A very simple answer but may work.

Quite correct Hastings although not perfect.I save as skp 7 but artlantis does not explode out the textures.The work around is to edit the texture in question and save it out separately.
Specifically i am trying to bring a mesh from google earth into art.Previously in 7 we could bring in a black & white mesh and then re- apply the texture saved out from GE in colour. Now it all comes in great in colour although the quality is a bit lacking photoshop again ! The new sketchup 8 google earth interface is a little different i am just getting used to it !
I am not too concerned at present as i know Abvent have a lot of sketchup users plus it normally opens native skp. files (not in 8). I am sure they are on it already !!

They plan to make plug-ins fort both versions, Artlantis 2 and 3. Until the plug is ready, you can also save SketchUp 7 format and open it directly in Artlantis. Have you tried it?"
