HI everyone
I'm new to this forum and new to artlantis. Used 3d max before.
Could you please tell me how to adjust shaders on a sloped roof? or any shape which consist of deferent surfaces. I'm importing model via dwg but initial model is from chief architect.
So when I put the sheder to the roof I can't edit it at each slope separately.Material changes direction at all parts of the roof at one time . Well, I can create/ change a layer for each slop in autocad but may be there is a easier way exist?

Hi Arina,
no there is no easier way. Best way is to give every part of the roof (which has a different direction) a separate color. Then you can adjust the angle of the texture in ATL.
If this is not possible you can select the single parts of the roof in ATL and separate them again. It's explained in the help menu.
But it's obviously more work than in the CAD.
Cheers
Patrick

Thank you, Patrick for answer.
will stay with cad.
I am working with small village at the moment ( 18 houses) so you can imagine the number of different parts ( houses are not parallel to each other). but I have envented one more way)) i do small boxes ( default objects)at the corner of the scene and give them diffent angles of materials or just apply material on them. Then I select parts of roofs in similar angle( directions) and transfer material from one box via poligons to foor part, then for another angle- another box. it works. At the end boxes can be deleted.
well but it just a play for now .further I will use cad.

What I would do is; make the separate buildings/houses first (with different layers for the different roof surfaces) and make an object(AOF) from every one of them. Then place these objects in your total scene. When you rotate a house/building the shaders/texturs will rotate with them. Another advantage of this method is you can give each house itself a different color also.
So in short: make your infra model/scene and place your building as object on it.
