i wonder how to use the function of the batch render to continue the render where it stopped.

i did a render in batchrender for 5 hours and i stopped it, supposing that as written in the guide, it will be restarted after all the calculation it has done.but it doesn't work, it began with the black and white window again....i am using the alpha version of artlantis 3.

many appreciation for any reply

cheers,

wei

If you want to resume the rendering, choose Pause instead of Quit! If you quit, the process will be canceled, while if you Pause, the you can resume any time.

If you choose Pause, don't close the window. Just minimize the window and leave it open.
I use it in English and on Mac. If I want to close the window after I paused the calculation, I still have a message: "Do you really want to Quit and Stop the rendering?"
Don't you have similar message?

i am using the alpha version of artlantis 3 italian language, i'm sure that no such similar message appear when i chose pause and then esc.....10 hours of my poor render...

thank you so much for having me understood that artlantis couldn't rebegin the render after restart the pc. but i really read about it in the italian language guide...;(

I know this might be slightly off the topic, but I noticed a very interesting thing happens in the rendering process of Artlantis studio 3.

Why is it that when doing a batch render, (or even a normal render in artlantis) the process noticeably slows down, almost to a hang, when no other activity is happening on the computer?

To explain further, I would leave a batch render overnight to calculate 10 large-ish (2000x1600 pixels) images, but when I wake the next morning, it has only done one and a half. But,,, if I set a batch render, but am working on photoshop, artlantis or corel, all at the same time, the rendering time is greatly reduced and the batch render gets on with business, quickly.

Could it be that the batch render gets lonely? All my performance settings are on high, nothing is set to sleep after a certain time - so I'm really astounded. My thoughts are that the batch rendering would relish the free processing power and run away with the renders, but obviously not.

Please Abvent, give me an answer - I'm desperate!!! I'm sure your techies will know exactly what the issue is.

my specs are:

i7 930
Nvidia GTX 480
6Gb Corsair Dominator RAM 1600MHz
Corsair 850W PSU
Asus P6X58D-Deluxe MB

I experienced the same thing with artlantis 2 batch render. For no reason it almost stops, CPU goes to 0-5% and stays there unless i restart my computer.

greetings!

What is your System? 32 or 64 bit? Did you try 64 bit?

If the problem still please contact our tech support, please join an archive of your work, this way will try to reproduce it.
