How to achieve this material (translucent matt?). I tried a dozen times with no success (including using water, glazing an any other stuff I could came up with). Non of them looks realistic. Help!.

There are different ways, depending what would you like to achieve. I would suggest to use a combination of textures -- or: post your question into the WIP section together with the Artlantis file and ask the help of the others.
Just check the WIP, you can come across great tips.
