Yes you can group object.
If you have a vase and a flower for example.
In the object list, drag the flower on top of the vase.
The two object will be grouped and the vase will be your primary object of the group. So, if you move the vase, the flower comes with it. You can drag and drop more objects onto the primary one for a bigger group. I hope this helps...

Sometimes the previous mentioned method is a bit hard when you need to group many objects; then snapping to other objects can be difficult.
So another method would be to group objects in your objects list. Drag an object onto another object in the list and they are grouped. If you need to group more objects drag other objects onto the primary object.
In the 2D view window the group can be determined by blue dots. The primary object will be slightly darker blue compared to the other ones. If you want to move a group you need to do that in the 2Dview window by dragging and dropping the primary object of the group, Dragging the other object just rearranges the objects within the group.
