very nice start....are you using keyframes
are those camera pauses KEYFRAMES?
i like the verigated spikey 3d
plants to the left of the front door. where did you source those?

Your handling of the camera path is well done

i like those animations, that have very slow lateral movement to give the viewer time to absorb what it is they are looking at.

Your background looks fantastic.

Maybe clouds in the sky at the start would enhance it a little.

Even a little more reflection in the glass at the front (not too much), which would reflect your 3d background image, but still giving the viewer a taste of what is inside....

Also maybe just a glimpse of the car in a different location..
perhaps in the front right foreground as if it was about to enter
the driveway, so you could see more of the house with a little more vegetation in the garden bed by the door. this would also
mean the car doesn't take centre-stage as you would only see
the front left fender area of the car....

A little more modelling/detail on the front gate, so you could see individual slats with just a timber texture.

The front door would be nice if it was animated to open as you approached it.

We could let our imagination run wild here......

Say the camera approaches into the living area & pauses at the panoramic view (as you've done), the heliodon is then animated to cast a shifting shadow into the house until it sets
and the darker interior is then lit up as the interior light fittings turn on as you turn to look at the kitchen...a lot more animation tricks i guess...time permitting!

Just some of ideas from another viewpoint.....

Keep up the great work Mike!

Hi Peter
Many thanks for your comments and your enthusiasm, I'm rendering some more at the moment but I'm getting a bit short of time on this one.I like the idea of going from day to night, I might try that. Here are some more stills of the same house.

Regards Mike

great presentation....client should be impressed
I particularly like the shot of the staircase.

The lap pool would look great with a wet edge at the far end.

i look forward to seeing you have a crack at the sun/interior lighting animation idea if you find the energy & the time.

Hi Mike,

I really like the slideshow presentation. Great job.

I am very new to Quicktime pro and would like to learn more presentation techniques (such as the fade between images).

Can you point me to a good tutorial web site. How did you learn?

Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris
The slideshow with fades was done from iphoto (Mac only).

A good tip I learned from quicktime pro is that you can open a movie while it is rendering in artlantis and see how it is progressing. Go to open 'images sequence' and find the .tga files which are rendering, set the frame rate and open.

Try this for tutorials
