Hi guys,
I do not show much of my work here but today I finished an animation. I published a copy of it on my website. The original animation was rendered at 800x600 px. To keep downloadtimes acceptable I made the webversion much smaller. I hope the quality is still acceptable.
Have fun

Thank you for your kind words Dom. About uying CDs with animated objecrts; Just wait.....The new version of ArtLantis is not ready yet and nobody knows when that will be released. It can take months to get to that point. If you buy them for the sake of the new version ....... I know better things to spend money on for short terms.
Just my 2 cts.

Attachment : Studio animation.wmv
Now it is the time to share the full version of this animation.
For the best viewing experience set your player to full screen and sit back.
Enjoy

2.when i'm trying to make an animation with QWT it creats a 0 kbit file!!! do you know somthing about it?

Hi Sjaak,
Your animation is excellent. A great example on how to use animations and still images to visual explain a design concept.
Which is the whole point but something I think easily gets lost when we try to create movies.
10/10 - Thank you for sharing. :)
Regards,
Chris

Hi Sjaak,
How are you? I like what you have done with the animation! It looks very well presented! How long did the animations only take to render roughly?
Again good stuff! P.S Nice Bird gliding!

Thanks joe,
Both animations took about 35 hours to render per animation.

35 hours on what hardware?
Very very well done, great materials, colors and mood. The concrete around the water looks good as well as the garbage area.
Vegetation looks good, especially on walls.
Some minor things:
- the beginning is a little rough in my opinion, maybe there could have been a longer approach
- the music is ok, but maybe you can find something that goes more with the changes between movies and fotos
- the bird is a good idea and looks good, maybe next time you can put more of them in, on the ground around a piece of water .. I imagine this brings even more life into it .. maybe you can throw in toys or gardeners stuff
- the bird sounds added a lot to it .. maybe you have more, sound of a street, wind, a door opening .. there's a lot of royalty-free stuff on the web

Thanks Guys,
@ Kurt.
I rendered with ArtLantis Studio on this configuration: WinXP prof SP2, Pentium 4 hyperthreaded, 3,2 GHz processor, 2,5 GB RAM, Graphics: ATI FireGL V3100 (though that doesn't add to rendertimes).
About the materials. I allways use a lot of textures over my shaders, Sometimes 3 or more over eachother. I play a lot with transparancy and bump to achieve a realistic effect. This animation is an example of that.
About the other points. As a resume you tell me to use more this and that and some more of the other stuff and much more gadgets. I do not agree. Putting in lots of stuff, changing sounds and moods kills the purpose of the animation. Your client wants to tell a story to the viewer. Mainly: "buy the goods I'm selling in this animation". Most of your clients will not be happy with all the gadgets that you put in your work if it doesn't do what they pay you for. Besides that, the work you put in has to pay off. We need to find a balance between a happy client and the height of the bills we send them.
@ Alexandar
I rendered to TGA and used Quicktime PRO to export it to AVI. From that moment you can use any videoeditor to do what you want to do with it.
I use MAGIX videolive deluxe. This is not professional videoediting software like Adobe Premiere but it does all I need for my business and it VERY affordable. We do not need to make hollywood movies. We make architectural presentations and MAGIX is good enough for that. You have seen the example here.
Hope I answered it all.

Hi, Well done, wonderful animation. It must have have taken quite a while to set it up. I agree with you on the need for less clutter on the project, "less is more" said a great Architect once -Ludwig van der rohr-. This will sell anywhere. Great work once again.
I have a question though, what modeling software did you use and how did you do the still for the running water in the pond?

Thanks for the nice words Okolie,
About the running water. I used an object called Waterbeam. It can be downloaded from this website:
