Okay Carl your image has some good furniture and a co-ordinated colour palette. However the room is not sealed or closed so it is very unrealistic it is neither an interior or an exterior. I suggest closing the room and letting light enter through windows and doors.

In case of an unrealistic scene, you may push the lights, textures also unrealistic. This way it will better match with the situation.
You can mix some post process styles too.
