I rendered last week a picture, everything was fine (picture 1). Today I`ve opened the art-lantis file and it was a big surprise, because whereever I used the crome and stainless steel art-lantis shaders, there are big shiny surfaces on the ceiling or on the walls (picture 1)
Some information:
I don`t use any light expect the helidon.
The shinines and reflection of the ceiling is 0, the material of the ceiling doesn`t cast shadow nor recieves shadows.
The higher and the lower ceiling are on same layer and have same shader.
Could somebody explain what happened, please?
Actualy I find strange the shininess of the shaders. I can`t see any different if the slider is between 0-990, but if I enter the value of the shininess 995, it will be too shiny.

I don't understand what is the question??, have you applied a chrome shader to your ceeling??, if not, should not be bright. Have tried to apply a basic shader, and you also could aplied an white bitmap overhead and control the self-illumination with sliding ambient.

No, of course I did`nt use chrome on the ceiling, just on the chandelier. But then I changed the crome to the basic shaders, because I thougt the crome material caused the problem. All of the ceilings, cornices, walls have 0 reflection and 0 shininess.
On the picture it seems that the ceiling is neon shader, but the rendering time is too short to be neon.
Sam, I uploaded the file maybe you find out what is the problem I really appreciate it. The file is 64 bit Alpha version.
Thanks
hey horus,
i checked your file and evrything lookis fine. your ceiling looks bout right with the grey shade on it with no neon glow. i think it might be a bug in the alpha version that your using. try installing the stable version and see how you go...

I renamed the layer of the ceiling in the archicad and saved again an art-lantis file. The shininess dissapeard!
I never liked if I rename a layer in archicad, I have to put the shader again in art-lantis, but this time it helped me.
I still don`t understand what happened, the ceiling on the rendering looked like a neon, but the rendering time was only 2minutes. If I had uesd really neon shader, it would have taken 2 hours at least. Maybe this is one of the faults of the alpha version.
