I suggest to use the cube from the basic 3D objects, and deform it to have some tubes. Place it in the holes and map the neon shader on it.
It will take you longer to calculate the rendering, that's true...

I have small question. I have ready made model with neon glow light in it and it renders well but when I apply same neon shader to another shape in the scene it renders just white without glow and lightening effects. what I do wrong?
Thanks for helps.
when i created a tube & place inside the hole, the light effect is like a straight line, doesn't like natural, how to make it more diffuse effect?
Thanks.

Hi Foo,
you must place this tube that way that it could not be seen.
In the camera menu you have to turn on neon shader as a light and then play with the strength and color of the neon light.
Cheers

You can make this effect in other way.
place in the holes a few light sources in line with power set to about 10, attenuation about 30, angle 360 and shadows about 50.
You have to try how many lights and distance between them you must use to make effect more "linear".
I usually using distance about 30cm - 50cm.
In this way you don't have to use slowing down renders neon shader.
Yeah friend unfortunately this is a great defect of the ATL, the neon shader not working right, besides leaving the yield absurdly slow! An image without 1700x1250pxl neon light shader I render in 12 minutes with a simple rectangle where you applied the neon light shader took 1 hour and 12 minutes ... 1 hour more ... I picked up at the foot of Abvent with this shader, it does not work right options intensity it gives great results and no nothing, NOTHING justifies taking so long to render a simple effect of light that requires a lot of ram ... I am hoping very much for a future version there is a diffuse light but not as shader as LIGHT, without eating or leaving the ram render so slow, but should be only one illumination.
I hope anxiously for it!
Now if you get a good result in their work without the neon light shader, please create a tutorial will be useful for us all!
Neon (light) shader is a B**** indeed, i read the artlantis attitude information about it but i dont manage to get proper results with it either. Until i figure it out I'll keep using regular lights :)!

Which Artlantis version are you using?
Is the neon shader active for that camera?

Sorry for my english!
So my rendering w/o neon is about 6min... with neon was at 8hrs and had 8more to go before I shut it down!.. I am trying the little light effect (which I used 15years ago in ArchiCAD 5!)
