Any shader can be applied on the infinite ground, there isn't separate requirement for that.
Do not forget to activate the infinite ground before setting the shaders, otherwise nothing will happen in the scene. To do that, you go: Objects Inspector > choose the Scene in the drawer > check the Infinite Ground in the inspector.
