Having some troubles with the reflections & transparency of the Fresnal Glass shader. Is this a graphics card problem or am i using the shader incorrectly I'm running a ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 on a HP Laptop nx8420 with a T7400@2.16GHz Centrino Duo 2.00 Gb Ram.

Hi Dean,

I don't think there's a problem with the shader. To me it looks like there's an error in your model. Perhaps you should try to remodel the part of the planes that show the strange reflections?

cheers,
Lars

Dean,

Have you tried "Merge Vertex"?

Yes it was a problem with the model. Went back into AC12 and used a slab instead of a wall to model the glass balustrade. Works fine as a slab. I did try merge vertex on both sides of the original glass (modelled with wall tool) but did nothing. Anyway not sure what the difference is but working ok now. Thanks.

Instead of a slab with thickness to it model your glass as a vertical polygon. The key is to not have a large thickness to it. It's helped me out with issues like this.

Dont think you can model a single polygon face in Archi-Cad? A wall with 1mm of thickness maybe.

In Archicad you can model that flat with the profiler,
in extruding a polyline.
(but i did not try to handle that in Artlantis yet.)
