Hello Peter,
thanks for your advice. I know the fire is far waway from looking perfect but my problem is/was to simulate a biothanol fire. The color ist different from all fires I found :-(
What do you mean by "the tele use a littel abient on the texure "?

And the same view with daylight and a now more realistic shaggy-carpet. The fire itself is still not very realistic and needs some more work.

The carpet is selfmade. It is a cubic objekt 200 x 200 x 2 cm combined with a grasobject (4 times 100 x 100 x 6 cm) I downloaded some time ago in the forum or on archiradar. Soon as possible I will make an aof out of the carpet and place it here

Hi Robert,
by the fact that I'm newbie too it went fast :-)
I think longest time it took to create the fireplace and the media-wall. The rest was try and error. After getting a little used to the programm I tink it took between 1 and 2 houres for changing materials, creating owne shaders and fixing light-settings.
The rendering itself took something around 30 minutes with a resolution of something around 4000 x 3000 px and antialiasing and radiosity on high. Rendered in V2.

Hello Peter,
I tried to follow your advice but I was not able to manage the export as an aof-file.
As long as if there is only one objekt no problem. I can export as an aof. Soon as I put one or some more other objects into the scene I'm no longer able to export the scene as a new aof.
I attached the archive-file with the ground of the carpet and one grass-object. Maybe you can have a look at the file and tell me if it is possible to create a complete carpet like I used in my scene and to save this carpet as an aof.
Greetings

here you go i have made an object from it i understand your problem if you whant to make the hole carpet you have to do it in your moddeler i have done it this way.in artlantis
first copy the first object until you have de right size off the carpet.
then you have a lot of objects bhut then export as obj,
en import as obj now you have 1 atl file save that as a object
and you have made 1 object from lets say 16 objects
greetings peter-:)
i will upload the carpet object later this day

This is an old thread and the images shown above were some of my first renders made with ATL, soon after I bought myfitest ATL2.
Regarding the fact that this weekend my wife cam up again with the idea of making some renovations in our living room she asked me to do some changes in this interior to show her some alternative regarding the media situation.
Here is the result.

Hi Patrick,
One observation - your abilities and knowledge of ATL increase with logarithmic scale over this two years ;)
This first render on the beginning of this thread is a few light years behind the last one you publish. Good job man - despite of the fact that i don't like this kind of design ;)

Hi Tomasz,
after you didn't like the style of the first one I simply changed the tiles with some parquet. (Though I can't show this to my wife or I will have to make a new floor, too.).
The details in the foreground of the parquet are good but there is the little problem with the reflections (in combination with bump) in the brighter parts of the parquet.

Hi Patrick
Really interesting
I would agree with Tomasz about his observation
Quite lot of difference compare to several years ago, I would congrats you first, =)
I like the sense of ceramic tiles most, but in the real life, I do prefer parquet
Why do you have so many vases over the windows ?
The right part would go in a very nice composition and that is enough, I do like to remove the three similar vases at the left window. And the black vase, yes, it is disturbing, not nice, not match to your room.
The TV screen is quite big, it is more than 42" ?
The stone do look not bump enough, don't you think ?
And the fireplace, would be better it is ON at the nite scene.
Do you really need so many spots of lighting fixture at your ceiling ?
And Patrick, since this scene is your own living, I do dare to have so many comments, otherwise I don't think I can do this for your works, as you said about compromise, I do respect about opinions too. Happy for the chance, as well.
Cheers, Darwin Tan

Hi Darwin,
thanks for your comments. Most of it is correct. Only some minor things. We bought this house 6 years ago and it was almost not much more than a ruin. But the shape was fixed. We changed almost all what was constructive not necessary.
The tiles are almost more mirroring than shown in my render. It's some polished material (not coated) and always looks sleepery. The vases were a little too much in this scene but the spots are reality. There are dozens of them in this house. The TV will be some new 55". The chimney will replace the actual chimney which is old fahioned (I never liked it and I should have changed this 6 years ago). This new one will be fired with bioethanol and it's more show than heating. Just some decoration which maybe will be used at daytime, too.
I'm running some update and I will post this tomorrow. Anyhow thanks again for your comments and advice.
Cheers

Now definitely my final. Following some good and really helpful advice from Kosecky I changed several materials and tweaked these settings up to its limits. I don't know if anyone really would recognize immediately that this was done with ATL but IMHO it's best what I can achieve by the use of ATL.

Hi Patrick,
You asked what disturbing me the most. So, I don't like the fireplace wall. I mean stone wall is rather "oldschool" (for me of course). Maybe better would be one big surface of stone or large format ceramics.
I don't know what modeler you're using but if Archicad, maybe you could share the file to play with ;)

Hello Tomasz,
sorry. No Archicad. It's some small Austrian program called CasCADos. It's a little like ATL not too many features but working fine for my.
Regarding the stone I think it's a question of personal taste. My wife always wanted this kind of stone and I like it, too.
