Hello everyone! I've been using artlantis for a while now and am much better than when I first started, but am looking for some tips to take me to the next level. Here's a model i've been working on and although I think it looks "good", it doesn't look as real as some of those high rated renderings in the gallery. What could I do to improve this model? Thanks! P.S. there are some bare spots in the lawn...ignore those :)

hi Jones nice one, the grass looks good, perhaps add more realistic colour or try to create shader from an existing jpeg. also the wood and facade seems bit plastic. playing with post-processing also may improve the feeling significantly.
That's an interesting piece you have on the roof, is it some sort of metalwork?
BTW a I like to create renders with half the object and its surroundings covered in shadows, it adds contrast to the image.
Thanks, i think a good thing to do was to image search actual photos of the materials i'm using so i can try to copy the appearance there. That's a good idea about the actual jpeg photo, but I don't have any repeatable jpegs of red steel coatings. This is a house I've been designing for a while that pulls from lots of childhood favorites ranging from Seattle to Starwars. I've desaturated some of the colors and tried to re-work the wood on the model, and changed the sun to manual to aim it that way. Let me know what you think.
