I got a collection of evermotion trees and plants, but these come in 3ds Max format. I know that I must convert it to .3ds or.obj to export to Artlantis , but when you export and open in Artlantis, textures and materials are not listed in both formats, just once I exported it with everything, at that time I had 3ds Max 2008 and I recently installed the 2009, but the options to export .obj file are different from that 2008, Would be this the problem?, what options should I choose for a proper export with textures and materials from 3ds Max 2009 ?...¿ I have to reinstall 2008 again?

first off all if you export make sure that you also export the pictures you used if not make a map for the pictures
artlantis will ask for it if not select the matirials and the brose to your map to get them there i they are uv select uv
make the laeve planes invisble whit that shader it can be done i have done it whit 1 evermotion tree
bhut you don,t have to use max at al you can dawnload also obj from evermotion ore 3ds then you can use them direcly

Loosely related question, probably already answered somewhere here... but...

I have downloaded a bunch of .3ds "objects" to convert to ArtLantis... The geometry comes in just fine, but it is all one material....

Any tips?

Ok, I've gone thru and picked out 1,000,000's of little triangles and reassigned their material. Not fun, but it works.

Now, I've downloaded some .max format objects and can't figure out how to get them into ArtLantis. I don't one MAX and I'm on a MAC... I have a feeling "S.O.L." may be the only response.

Please let me know if there is a translator somewhere.

Also, looking for Cactus and other desert plants. Anyone?

Would you like to use those layers in Artlantis? Is this your question?
This won't be possible, sorry. 3Ds files will be opened with a single layer only in Artlantis.
