first of all i found that site with some nice textures!

http://www.textureking.com/index.php/category/all-textures

And i would like some help with adding some dirt to a building. ok there is the easy way adding the texture and then setting the trasparency a bit in the middle! But this is messing the colors and i don;t like that! is there a way to remove one of the colors of the texture so to get only the dirt and not the background? i 've got the feeling that the box saying "use alpha chanel" has something to do with that but i don;t know how to use it :P

can anyone enlight me?

p.s. i couldn;t manage to find a proper site with dirt (grunde) so i use other things that look like that! if u could tell me one i would be realy happy! thanks in advance!

Hi Stam, the checkbox: alpha channel will enable the alpha mask of the mapped texture. You can use it to create "dirt" on walls, why not?
I attach a tga file with alpha channel, that you can use to simulate the dirt at the basement of walls: map it at the lower part of a wall, multiply it horizontally and activate the alpha channel.

Or, here is an other idea: use a gray-scale image you map on a shader you want to make dirty and play with the transparency slider. To be honest, I've never tried it, but it can work.. :)
