Is there any tool or method to convert multiple 3ds files to aof?
I have lots of objects in 3ds so it takes a lot of time to complete all the process converting each file.

you can convert them directly in artlantis one by one, open the .3ds (file/open... .3ds)and save it as Artlantis Object(file/export as object)

i am in the same boat.

We bought a dosch design CD for trees. The problem is that they do not have AOF just 3ds. When i open them up in artlantis the images come in without textures. Am i not loading them correctly? is there anything to do to get this right??

Just import the texture an change the projection to 'UV'.
It should work...

Hi Jan,

I am in the same situation as Dromo. Have you had any success with Dosch Trees?

When the Dosch tree is opened in Artlantis the texture map projection is set to UV.

I have attached a tree for you to try for yourself.

Please let me know if you have any success.
Cheers
Chris

Ps I also bought the Dosch interior objects in .3DS format and they work fine. So I know it is not my copy of Artlantis.

Hi Chris,

It seems that you miss some textures like:
- beechb_B.jpg
- beechb_S.jpg
- beechl1S.jpg
- beechl1T.jpg
- beechl2S.jpg
- beechl2T.jpg

Or perhaps it's the length of the filename (8 char.) while the original has more characters.

Please check the missing textures first.

Greetz!

Well, That is the thing. When I investigate the textures dialog box , the files you mention aren't referenced. (screen shot attached).

Thanks for the tip I hadn't realised that the leaves where multilayered textures. I will try experimenting And let you know how I get on.

Cheers Chris

Hi Dromo,

I was just in the middle of posting my results, having had no joy, when I received an email from Dosch design. In it they say they are looking to issue a special Artlantis edition of the 3D Trees & Conifers. I'll let you know when they get back to me.

Regards,
Chris

Hey Chris

Let me know what happens. I emailed them also and have not received anything from them.

Did they say that they would trade the cd or that we would have to buy the other one. Thanks again Chris!

Daniel

Hi Dromo,

Yes I have. I just got back from holiday today and in my Inbox is an email from Sebastian Dosch. He has corrected the error in the files and issued Artlantis copy of 3d Tree & Conifers v3.

You can find them on the web site
https://www.doschdesign.com/products/3d/Trees_Conifers_V3_for_Artlantis.html

If you already own a copy contact Sebastian on how to update to the new release.

Regards,
Chris

Hi Dromo,

Have you contacted Dosch yet?
I have loaded the new tree files and they work great! I attached a little experimental image.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Jan,

Where do i find this 'uv' setting on importing of textures? I seem to have problems with my 3ds objects not having/importing textures and also not being able to edit these textures once imported as an aof object.

Help?
