Hi,

I am having real problems with differences between the colour I have selected (based around specific RGB or CMYK values) in the 'Diffuse Colour' bar and then how that appears in the 'Preview Window' or in processed renders!

Hopefully you'll be able to see in the screen shot. They are completely different. this seems to be the case regardless of Helidon and/or light settings.

Any thoughts??

Many Thanks

Marc

Hi Marc,
as far as I can see you selected a dark magenta/voilet as default shader. I think the colour in the preview is correct. Think about the fact that the cube is receiving light and the colour is influenced by the radiosity.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the feed back, the same thought had crossed my mind. However I felt it was quite an extreme change for the colour considering the helidon settings were pretty low with no other light source.

Best course of action to tweak the colour until the preview looks more like the source colour?

Hi Marc,
which version of ATL do you use. At the moment I'm working with ATL2 and ATL 3 and there is a big difference in the radiosity between this two versions. What is looking almost dark in ATL 2 will be bright in ATL 3. I think only way to find out best colour is by try and error.
Greetings

I'm running ATL2 so that might be the problem. Just had a look at the ATL3 new features and they are promoting better radiosity preview. May have to splash a bit more cash to get the better product.

Thanks for the advice though. Much appreciated.

Hi Marc,
you are allways welcome. But be carefull. I'm running both programs and at the moment I'm still working with ATL2. I'm working on a Dell mobile Workstation M90 with Dual Core and ATL 2 is running much faster on this older machine. I'm not really sure if my machine is fast enough for ATL 3.01.
And rendertime is still much longer than in ATL2.
Greetings
Patrick
