hello to all. this is my first very quick try comparison between Artlantis 2.0 and V-ray. as i expected from Abvent team and beta-testers they manage to produce a very good piece of software!
I take a bow before you :)) and wait silently for any updates :)

well for the Artlantis2.0 the render time was around 7 minutes and for the vray around 20 minutes.

well, i agree that vray image is much better in detail...

if you look to the wall vs ceiling intersection in vray looks perfect......but in art*lantis produces that very sharp kind of edge...not natural...

i think that abvent should work on these details for next updates.

Let me just suggest a small adjustment to some of your shaders in the Artlantis 2 image: change the shininess of the red cabinets, for example, to be much less. One of the great features of 2.0 is that reflections can be matte ... the shininess will set the level. You can obtain something much closer to the vray image with respect to that.

Cheers,
Karl

Ah, I see that the vray had mirror reflection on the red upper cabinets though...and interesting that 2.0 does not reflect the sky as cleanly as vray; perhaps just a shader setting.

The darker wall to the right seems like perhaps a shader setting in Artlantis?

But, what looks like a light leak where the walls meet the ceiling is kind of odd. Perhaps a model problem? Or is it Artlantis 2.0?

Well thank you for the feedback. i forgot to mention that i played with the shaders for a very short time. All i did with the scene was to export it from max (i don't know if it was exported as it should resulting those artefacts at the wall intersections) and hit render in artlantis 2.0.
I will try in the next days to match the vray render (well i`m going to trial and error thingy with art-shaders).

regards,
Tudor Schinagel
