That was great, one of the best I've seen from artlantis. Congratulations!

100% agree, nicely done.
Do you have a higher quality version of this? Maybe we can make this a collaborative effort where multiple users render this thing in HD and you stick it together. I mean it, especially your interiors are worth it.

Thanx for the comments guys =) I really happy you like it !!

Kurt, great idea of yours. I have a higher quality of this animation, but it is at 640 x 480 in AVI format with a size of 229Mb (not HD), and I would be gorgeous to have this animation in HD quality, specially because I think that the animation speed is too fast (I had to render it at that speed to reduce rendering time) also It is rendered at 24 fps so it looks a little choppy (I rather prefer rendering it at 30 fps and HD of course).

But we need a lot of people, because this animation took almost a week of continous rendering, mostly with my dual core PC (Athlon x2 4600+) and with help in some interior renderings (those are the most time consuming by the way) with 2 more dual core PC's (Pentium D 805 2.66Ghz and a pentium D 820 2.8Ghz).

We could do it, render this in HD.... what do you thing guys???

Of course I can slow it down, just give me some time to do it and to make the whole object and textures pack and upload it. Also I will wait a little bit in order to more people sign in this mass rendering project!!!!

HD means High Definition, which translates in high resolution =) hope it helps

Yeah, HD stands for High Definition. Basically everything larger then the Standard Resolution (SD) already is HD, so every movie larger then the PAL or NTSC television standards is HD. But the there are two "typical" HD resolutions: 1280x720 @ 25 frames per second and 1980x1080 @ 25 fps. Since the latter needs a 24"+ screen I suggest we use the 1280x720 reso.

Of course HD is a buzzword in the visual media industry, but you can really tell the difference. It just looks fantastic and it's a great challenge to produce such material.

I am glad that you like the idea of making this a collaborative effort. I am quite enthusiastic about this because it shows what forums can be used for and maybe Abvent can use the material for promotions. I think the result will be rewarding and it CAN be done :D Maybe we can get the help of a MacPro owner -.-

I guess there are 4 stages for this project (if there is one): 1) tweak the animations (lower speed, add some gimmicks, for example the door opening when the camera flies through), 2) create texture packs and render files for distribution, 3) upload, distribute, render, re-upload 4) throw it all together.

I think people should render JPEGs instead of movies just for flexibility. Exchanging H264 videos has some insecurities. I don't really know how many people we need for the rendering. Maybe 3-4 is the sufficent minimum already.
If you want to start this, count me in. I am currently working on something completely different, my iMac is starving :D

Hi
Hapikern - this is amazing and powerfull work - I love it!!
Can You explain me one thing - I can see that You use a photo for the background - it can be seen especially in the last part of your animation when camera is climbing the hill and then when it comes down - there is a real bacground (after grass field) with some trees, forest. I presume it is a real photo! My question is - how You make it move with the camera? - ... don't know if You understand me - I would post the example but problem is that my 10 seconds animation weights 550 Mb (it is a mow. file) and I don't know how to convert it to the usefull size!! ??
