I thought there was a stitcher called realViz or something that did this, but it was a huge pain to use. We recently discovered a good stitcher for 3D images, not cubic however, they are just large rectangles that map into a cylinder in R/Studio, will post the name when back at the office. There is of course IPIX, but Artlantis has never supported this format, but IPIX may be able to save cubic vs. spheric VR files...
