I have successfully set up a path for the lower floor flythrough of a house, and now, I need to complete the path for the upper floor. I had already defined the path geometry in 2D, and now I need to elevate the last 16 control points to have the camera go upstairs and continue the path on the upper floor.
It would be easier to do this as two sequences, but I have been asked to make one long, fluid movie of both floors.
Now the question: I am finding when I elevate a single control point, everything goes crazy, control-handles remain un-elevated, other control points elevate themselves arbitrarily, etc. and since there is no axo wireframe view, it is very difficult to isolate the upper floor control points from the lower floor to raise them up.
Any suggestions? Should I elevate the path, or just the camera using keyframes??

In edit path mode I select the controlpoint I want to elevate in topview (2Dview window) Then I turn to right, left, whateverview. The controlpoint stays selected, meaning that this controlpoint still is somewhat larger compared to the others. Sometimes you have to zoom in (scrollwheel) on them to see it. If you get the hang of it you will find out that you can fairly easy control the points this way. The same goes for the tangents of the controlpoints.
That your controlhandles go crazy can mean that you do not zoom in enough and that you grab the controlhandles in stead of the controlpoints.
I hope this helps you.

Sjaak, thanks, I didn't realize they stayed selected, that helps...I was actually trying to select control points and edit their elevation/z coordinates by manually entering the numbers - which was giving me crazy/nonfunctional results. It is all crystal clear now, only geometric manipulation works....getting the hang of this now... :)
