License Activation and De-activation of Artlantis 2 for Mac OS X and Windows: License Activation Install Artlantis on your computer and open the application. Choose “Activate License” to launch the process (this palette will help you to activate Artlantis even after the evaluation period expires).

When launching, Artlantis will check automatically for an Internet connection. Over the Internet:

First: • Locate the serial number* (composed of two numbers separated by a dash) that is shown on your registration card or was e-mailed to you. • Make sure you are connected to the Internet. Artlantis will have to connect to the activation server. • Enter the serial number. • Click on the Activate License button. A message will display confirming activation. Exit out of the message to display the open file dialogue. NB: *the serial number can be used regardless of whether you are using Mac or Windows. Potential Problem: License Cannot Be Validated

The maximum number of users associated with the license in question has been reached. To activate the license number of a new workstation, you must first de-activate it on a workstation(s) currently using this license*. You can then activate the serial number on the new workstation. Another solution is to purchase a new license at a reduced cost. Contact your reseller for more information. NB:* You do not have to uninstall the software. Simply de-activate the license. Manual Activation This method will be applied if you are unable to connect to the Internet.

• Locate the serial number (composed of two numbers separated by a dash) that is shown on your registration card or was e-mailed to you. • Jot down the identification number located on the license handler (this number is encrypted). • Connect to the Internet and go to the Artlantis activation site at: http://activation.artlantis.com • Once the activation page appears, enter the identification number that you had written down earlier, then click on "Connect to server."

You will then receive a license number that you will copy and paste in the Enter your Activation code field of the license handler.

License de-activation You can access the license manager by going to: - Windows: Help Menu > Edit License.... - Macintosh: Artlantis Menu > License...

To de-activate the license, click on De-activate License, then click on the Close button. Manual de-activation If there is an Internet connection, the palette will look like this:

Click on the De-activate license button then confirm the de-activation.

- Jot down the identification number located on the license handler (this number is encrypted). - Connect to the Internet and go to the Artlantis activation site at: http://activation.artlantis.com - Once the activation page appears, enter the identification number that you had written down earlier, then click on "Connect to server": <10> The server will send you the code number that you must copy and paste in the field “Enter the de-activation code” in the License Manager. Click on the Close button, then validate to confirm the de-activation. NB: In the event of a multi-seat license, the serial number allows more than one activation on individual computers. Each license will be activated individually as described above.
