I am trying to import from Vectorworks 12 to Art 2 a curved top member of a truss. It looks wonderful on Vectorworks, but on export to Art,at is segmetal, so much so that that it is no longer curved, but a standard bog ordinary flat truss. I have 3D resolution up to maximum, no change. Is there a setting that I have missed. It cannot be that Art cannot do this. Another such truss is better, almost acceptable, but I want a very smooth curve. The top curved member was produced by sweeping and it is a cicrular section. Anybody with any ides?

When looking at the objects shader have you tried adjusting the smoothness slider on the shader? Try that if you haven't.

Jeremy
Thanks for the suggestion, but no, the problem is much more fundamental. Something between the transfer from VW2009 to Art 2. It will probably have to be a square section arched top member rather than circular section.

I remade in VW2009 the curved beam using extrude along path and it now works OK

Do the following: select the material in the list of materials and make a right click. From the contextual menu choose: Merge Vertex.
This feature was introduced specially for these kind of problems that occur during the export from VW to Artlantis.

That was to be my next suggestion, as Ildiko said the Merge Vertex function is going to fix the issue most likely! I've used this one countless times.
