Abvent's Revit 2012 export plug-in for Artlantis now available for downloading
Paris, July 19, 2011 -- The Abvent Group, editor and publisher of Artlantis, has announced that the Revit 2012 Artlantis export plug-in is now available for downloading. This plug-in enables Revit 2012 users to export their 3D models directly to the Artlantis 3 .atl file format.
The Artlantis export plug-in offers a direct transfer from Revit into Artlantis, without the need for intermediate file formats. Users can create a model in Revit, then export and edit it in Artlantis.
With Artlantis, they can follow the evolution of the rendering in real time through the real time preview window and take advantage of the great features such as the ‘drag & drop’ of materials and objects, or the postcard technology. Artlantis’s .atl file format is cross platform; it can be read on both Macintosh and Windows.
Evan Troxel, an architect and educator at Cal Poly Pomona’s school of architecture, is among the growing number of Revit users who rely on Artlantis for high resolution renderings. “Because of the integration between Artlantis and Revit, I can render my model, update it in Revit, and send it back to Artlantis very easily,” Troxel said. “My imagery is always up-to-date with my Revit project as the design progresses. On top of that, I can keep working in Revit while Artlantis crunches away on an image, animation, or even a batch of several images at the same time, without having to wait for Revit to complete a rendering before continuing,” he added.
Artlantis is a family of stand-alone rendering applications developed especially for architects and designers. Artlantis Render is designed for those seeking high-resolution 3D renderings, while Artlantis Studio is ideal for quickly and easily creating high-resolution 3D renderings, as well as QuickTime® VR Panoramas, QuickTime® VR Objects and animations. Artlantis interfaces directly with ArchiCAD™, Revit™, SketchUp™ Pro, VectorWorks™, and Arc+™. With the addition of the DWF, OBJ and FBX import formats and updated DXF, DWG and 3DS plug-ins, Artlantis seamlessly interacts with all the leading CAD software as well. Themed collections of materials, parametric textures, and objects known as Artlantis Media enable users to simulate life-like scenes in a realistic environment. A recognized leader in preview window technology, Artlantis is the rendering software used by architects, designers and urban design professionals in more than 80 countries.
